Thief is used both to refer to someone who happens to steal and to a professional thief, perhaps one who belongs to a thieves’ guild or otherwise has some notoriety. It is the latter sense that the word is used in this article.
Organisations
- Drogo the Baldfaced has founded a Rustlers Guild. He takes one gold piece in seven from his members, but they happily pay.
- Blind Midshotgatepool’s thieves’ guild wields much of the power in the city. They are heroes among those too poor to live on dry land and for their daring raids on Shuttered merchants and the Tower Savage.

- Some crowfolk have fallen in with Midshotgatepool’s thieves’ guild.
- The Dust Men have been described as high-living thieves.
Thievery
- The Pilgrim’s Way is popular among thieves and assassins for it allows them to move unseen and slip through shadows.
- Thieves and assassins seek out moon elephant leather armour for it makes them more alert and more difficult to see.
- Among Midshotgatepool’s thieves guild are enforcers, enchanters, experts in poisons and traps, fences and herbalists.
