Sorcerer seems to be a general term for a spellcaster, or used synonymously for mages and wizards. However, those whose magic comes from blood or birthright seem to be specifically identified as sorcerers or bloodline sorcerers rather than wizards or mages. The dragonblooded and tieflings who cast spells by dint of their heritage are described exclusively as sorcerers. Sorcerer or sorcerer of Thring also specifically describes priests of Baron Autumn who have an unusual approach to magic.
Sorcerers of Thring
The sorcerers of Thring are a meddlesome and jealous estate, and so each specialises in magic as obscure and esoteric as possible—making theft pointless and sabotage harmless. The Sorcerer of Tarengael Town practices featherstitch magic.
The Sorcerer of Tarengael Town wears a mask of Baron Autumn. The sorcerers of Thring are priests of Baron Autumn and can draw on his power to create sack children and revive dead warhorses (16.16).
