Tired of living under the foul-smelling thumb of the Dungers, Maris Hallover (of the Hallovers) built make-shift wings out of sticks and the pages of a rare book and climbed to the top of the highest hoodoo around and flung herself from it. The lightness of her body allowed her to catch the wind and soar far away north towards freedom. Sadly her half-uncle and husband, Bertie Hallover, died retching his guts out while buying time for his beloved Maris to escape.
