Here, not far from the tombs that escort the White Road out of the City of Shuttered Windows is a small statue of the demigod of disease, mutilation and torment known as the Azru.
As far as this particular statue, it is under constant guard by order of the Doge himself in order to prevent local beggars from drinking its tears and thereby contracting a remarkably hideous (but not particularly painful) skin ailment.
